I hope you all enjoyed the blog tour. In case 18 days was not enough of me and my book, Bri Meets Books is hosting me on her site for a bonus interview. When will it all stop???????? Haha!
I do want to thank all the bloggers and say how much fun I had doing it. Thanks for having me everyone. And the winners of the contests will be announced on the Finally Friday post.
Today I would like to welcome Judith Graves. She is also a debut Canadian young adult author, and she’s her first book Under My Skin is out now. It’s the first in a paranormal series that could be described as “Buffy meets Beauty and her inner BEAST”. Residing in Cold Lake, Alberta Judith unhappily endures winter and runs away from bees in the summer.
Hey, Judith! Nice to have you here. What’s on your iPod or CD player?
Ohh…I just went on an iTunes spending spree. I’m always seeking songs to match specific characters or scenes. Here are a few recent finds:
“Stuck for Summer” – Two Hours Traffic
“The Loneliness and the Scream” – Frightened Rabbit
“Out of Our Minds” – Melissa Auf der Maur
“The Cure” – Tegan and Sara
What are your hobbies that don’t have to do with writing?
I’m a singer/songwriter…so I’m usually jamming with friends or working through a new tune on my bass.
What’s the best piece of advice anyone ever gave you (or you learned from a book)?
When in doubt – do without. (Oddly enough, this does not seem to apply to chocolate.)
When’s the last time you rode a bike?
Last summer. I can’t wait till it warms up enough (and the snow melts). Then I’ll be biking to school a few times a week (I’m an elementary school library technician, and I store my bike in the library). As long as I keep an eye out for brown bears on the trail, it’s usually a relaxing little trip. It’s always tough at the start of the season, but by the end of summer, I’ve got my biker groove back.
Do you make plans in advance when you travel, or just hope for the best?
I’m a planner, to a certain extent. I’m touring NYC in May with the members of the Class of 2k10 and have been pretty anal about fixing our schedule. But I have a few days of just random touristness – no plans, just hanging out in NYC.
What’s the coolest writing-thing that’s happened to you since you sold your first book?
Joining the Class of 2k10 and touring NYC in May – that combo still blows my mind.
Thanks, Judith. Anything you want to add?
You had a question, something to the effect of, “I asked you to select 7 questions to answer – did you want to respond to more?” Yes. I did. And because answering questions about my book is so much fun – and probably highly narcissistic – I’ve only answered 6. 😉 Thanks for letting me hang with you, Joelle!
Ooh the book sounds good, you had me at Buffy!
Yay, a mini Canadian party 🙂
I have to agree with Judith on chocolate…doing without is not an option!
