Hi, All.
Well, I’ve been reading. And traveling. And sick. And reading. And traveling. And sick. I haven’t kept very good track of what I’ve read, but here are a few things that I liked.
Welcome to Wahoo – Dennis and Elise Carr
I loved this. YA chick lit at its best. Actually, awfully close to an idea I had for a YA and was developing, but they did it so well that I don’t really mind that they did it first.
The Parallel Universe of Liars – Kathleen Jeffrie Johnson
YA. An interesting read. Well done.
The Thirteenth Tale – Diane Setterfield
Adult fiction. Loved, loved, loved it.
Not as Crazy as I Seem – George Harrar
YA. An outstanding book. Really good stuff.
Artemis Fowl, The Lost Colony – Eoin Colfer
More fun with Artemis. Always good to me. Number four, I think.
Dueling Princes and Stealing Princes – Tyne O’Connel
Brit YA. Very chicky-litty…still better than most. There are four or five of these. These are number 2 & 3 and I’ll happily breeze through any others.
So Super Starry – Rose Wilkins
More Brit YA. More chick lit. But still kinda fun. There’s a sequel that I’ll read if I can get a hold of it. These are good bath books, or rainy day books. Kind of glamorous.
Driftood – Cathy Cassidy
I always like C.C. This was an intelligent read. Interestingly enough, my eleven year old friend who is a voracious reader only read about half and never picked it up again while she was visiting. I was honestly surprised as it seemed like it would interest her. Oh, well. She is more in to fantasy, I guess.
There’s also one I didn’t finish because it got too icky and one I did finish but won’t mention here because I wasn’t that excited about it. Also there’s the one I’m reading now that is well-written but it will depend on the ending if it works for me or not. The author seems backed in to a corner so far, but those can be the exciting ones.
I probably read a few others too, but like I said, between being sick and traveling, I didn’t make much effort to write them down.
