Join my students and leave me a story in the comments section. This week, we studied plot, so as you write your story, keep in mind the Beginning, Middle, Climax, & End.
Prompt: Use these five words in a story of any length.
Pencil, giraffe, desperate, headache, Victoria
Have fun!
I loved reading these comments! Great stories, Audrey and Kelly! I’m too shy to share mine. 🙂 But thank you again, Joelle, for sharing another writing prompt with us. Sometimes I get writing…and I forget all about how important a narrative arc really is!
Once upon a time… there was a desperate giraffe in Victoria with a headache shopping for a pencil.
The End 🙂
haha sorry I forgot the lesson of Beginning, Middle, Climax, End :p
Maybe if the giraffe hadn’t escaped the zoo, my pounding headache wouldn’t be going off the Richter scale. Maybe if the lion had kept his oversized paws off my lunch, my stomach wouldn’t be pushing its decibal boundaries. Maybe if my dear old penguin hadn’t been so desperate for a treat I would still have my fingernail on my left pinky.
But alas, the gods were not on my side on this frightfully sunny day.
So with a line up going around the Victoria parliament buildings, and a constant stream of acrobats performing on the lush lawns, Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper regretfully announced the terrible news: he had lost his lucky maple leaf pencil. And that a giraffe was missing.
Oh, the horror.
The entire nation grieved.
Perhaps tomorrow will be a better day.
