Suddenly Saturday is my handy, dandy name for Dang, I missed Finally Friday! Actually, I was a bit under the weather yesterday, so I blew off FF, but today I remembered that I had a few things I wanted to tell y’all about, so here I am.
First off, congratulations to the Goodreads contest winner, Kristin Wing, who won a signed copy of Restoring Harmony. Kristin is an aspiring writer herself, so everyone join me in a rousing shout of, “Goooo! Kristin! Butt in the chair! Words on the page! You can do it!”
The Goodreads giveaway stemmed from a blog post I did for Darcy Pattison’s blog on book giveaways, which you can see here.
If you are not Kristin, but you would still like to win a copy of RH, the wonderful and funny Tawna Fenske is giving away a copy over on her blog, Don’t Pet Me, I’m Writing. She’s also looking for tips on getting organized, so if that’s you, pop on over there.
As you can see in the post below this, I will be in Kelowna BC and Portland OR and I’m waiving travel fees for any schools or libraries that want to book me in for a school author visit or writing workshops. Dates and info below.
Also, don’t forget to mark your calendars for Wordstock, Portland’s literary festival, coming up in October. I will be taking the stage at 4pm on Sunday, 10 October, and right after me, one of my favourite YA authors will strut her stuff, Cecil Castellucci. The whole festival should be great fun.
I hope you’re all having a most excellent weekend!
Happy trails! Wordstock should be awesome — have fun! 🙂
Joelle, what wonderful news! Your life on the stage and your life as a writer will magically come together at Wordstock! (Great name). I wish that I could be there.
