You may remember that Lisa’s book, THE THING ABOUT GEORGIE was on my Fave Fifteen of 2007 and she’s got another winner here. This book was interesting on so many levels. It really makes the reader feel quite uncomfortable because…well, I don’t really want to say, but I have to say that if I didn’t know Lisa, I might not have trusted her enough to make it all work, and I actually might not have kept going. The thing is, it’s not a bad thing to make your reader squirmy and I know she’s a nice person and a very good writer so I carried on (I’m also kind of a wimp, so I knew that I should keep going). Lisa’s helped me with very insightful questions about my own writing, so I was pretty sure I could count on her to make it all okay. She did a great job. Add this one to your reading pile!
*I also read Diane Mott Davidson’s CATERING TO NOBODY and listened to WHAT HO, JEEVES by PG Wodehouse on audio and did a travel/research trip which is why Need To Read hasn’t been updated recently.
