I can’t remember ever using my website as a platform for anything other than writing or my husband’s music and photography, certainly not to complain. But this is more of a warning than a complaint, especially if you’re still shopping or Hunter boots are on your Santa list. I guess I can tie it to writing by saying that I bought these boots as a present to myself when my last book came out. There…tied to the business of writing.
Super cute? Right? Yeah…except…their reputation is a fake these days. The boots are now made in China, and a quick web search will show you that people all over the world are buying these for lots of money and they end up leaking and splitting within months, both of which mine have done. But naturally not soon enough for replacements or refunds.
Buyer beware is all I’m saying.
Plenty of good quality things are made in China – In the same way that sometimes great quality writing can have a typo or error, plenty of great quality products have occasional faults too!
I work for a company that sells Hunter boots – we see an occasional leaky boot, but it would be in the order of 1 in every 3-400 we sell. As long as the boot hasn’t been mistreated, our national distributor can offer a replacement.
Did you try taking them back to where you bought them from?
What a shame. Thanks for the info, these have such a great reputation too!
