This workshop runs 9 April 2023- 17 June 2023

Get Writing – A Writing Course on Audio

How it works: Every other Sunday (starting 9th April, 2023), I will send you a new audio lesson, which you can listen to whenever it’s convenient for you. (you get to keep this course to use over and over on your own, too!)

You’ll have one week to do the assignment and send it to me for feedback. I will get back to you before the next lesson (sometimes with optional homework suggestions).

The Course: I cover topics like how to be tougher on your characters, how to get things moving, and most importantly, how and why you should be spying on everyone around you! After you’ve done the homework, you will send it to me, and I will record a 10-15 minute MP3 of my thoughts, tips, and advice. That’s right, you’ll get feedback on five assignments.

What are the topics of this course?

Lesson One – Tough Love

Lesson Two – Become an Activity Director

Lesson Three – Expansive Writing

Lesson Four – Be a Spy

Lesson Five – The Emotions of Sound

Who’s this course right for? This workshop is designed for those of you writing fiction.* This is an excellent choice if you’re still in the learning how to put a story together stage, but have some basic understanding of writing…maybe you’ve taken a class or two, or read some books on writing. It’s also excellent for someone who’s been at this writing thing for a while and just can’t seem to make it click. These are the kinds of tips that will up your game, and take your writing to the next level.

What about that bonus? If you registered for Get Writing on or before 1 April 2023, you are welcome to attend my workshop, Expansive Writing, on 4th May 2023 at the GAC Hall, at no charge (on Gabriola Island). This is essentially the same workshop you get with this course, but since every writing workshop is an event, it will have its differences too.

To register, please e-transfer $195 to writewithjoelle@gmail.com

Thanks again!

*While this course is designed for fiction writers, if you’re writing creative nonfiction or memoir, I think you could probably still get something out of it.
