It’s been a big week! Check out the new ride. Yep, this is Betsy, my book birthday gift from the husband. Yay! It’s so much fun to ride. You get one guess as to who I named the bike after! And yes, I do have a helmet, but I was trying to look cool in the picture.
Over at The Debutante Ball I’m talking about writer discipline today. And if you’ve got a debut novel coming out between September 2010 and August 2011, and you’re female, we’re now taking applications for next year’s Debutante Ball. I’m not in charge, so boys, while we’re open to discussion, I didn’t set the rules, I just typed them up.
A few weeks ago, I mentioned that I had some “big” news that I couldn’t share then, but I can now. I’ve been featured over on The Romantic Times website in their debut spotlight! I’ve written a piece for them and they’ve also got a review and an excerpt from the book.
Don’t forget, if you live on Galiano Island or in Victoria BC, I’ve got bookstore events coming up. Check under the Events tab. Also, I’ve heard that the BC Ferries should have Restoring Harmony in their gift shops on the ferries in the next couple of weeks. Yay!
In other news, I finished up the writing classes I’ve been doing with the wonderful Grade 6 & 7s today. Good luck to you graduating Grade 7s as you go off island next year to the high school! And I’m looking forward to teaching the new Grade 7s in the fall. How great are these kids and their teacher? Well, at the end of class, they surprised me with a lovely handmade card signed by everyone, and a cake, decorated to look like a book! It was a congratulations cake to celebrate the publication of Restoring Harmony. I didn’t get a picture of the cake before we ate it, but here’s the card they made me. Thank you all!
Aw, thats so sweet!
Both the ridiculously cool bike, and the awesome card!
Love, Hannah
