Today I’m over at The Debutante Ball blogging about… No, that’s not right. I’m done at The Ball! But you’re in very good hands with the new Friday Deb, Tawna Fenske. She’s one funny gal. All The Debs are great this year and I’m sure you’ll enjoy spending time with them.
I took a little bit of a break after sending off a proposal to my agent, and for my wedding anniversary, we went to Galiano Island. It’s actually quite close as the crow flies, but unfortunately we’re not crows. We had to take a ferry to Vancouver Island, then drive 2 hours and catch another ferry that took an hour to get to Galiano. Still, it was worth it. A lovely day, great food, my wonderful husband, and beautiful scenery.
Even though the fall equinox is not for a few weeks, I always feel like Labour Day is the official end to summer. Time to put those white shoes and clothes away, buy some school supplies, and hunker down to write. I’m back to work today, putting together sample pages for what I hope will be my third YA. What have you done this last week of summer?
I refuse to believe it’s the end of summer! The cold wind today doesn’t care about my refusal, I think.
Happy Anniversary (late), and best wishes for many more wonderful years with Victor.
This last week of summer was a vacation week for my husband, so we took a day trip to Ten Chimneys (summer home of theater greats Alfred Lunt and Lynn Fontanne), made another batch of vegetable soup stock from all the scraps left over from the CSA boxes we’ve been enjoying, made soup from some of the stock, did all my errands by bike, spent most of yesterday at a funeral of a distant relative, and — oh no! It’s time to pick up this week’s CSA box! Must figure out what to do with the eggplant we got last week! And I’m hoping by Saturday I’ll be able to blog again and get back to the WIP.
