Sarah Tradewell is one of Canada’s finest young fiddlers. She also looks exactly like the fiddle-playing character, Molly, in my book Restoring Harmony. But we met AFTER the book was written (before it sold). Sarah ended up being the fiddle expert for my book throughout the editing process, and not only that, she starred in my book trailer and then wrote a tune to go with the book called Brianna’s Reel.
Here’s the amazing story of how we met.
Sarah has a new CD out and it includes Brianna’s Reel as part of the Harbour Reel set, and I would love for you to win it, so I’m giving away a signed copy of the CD. I’ll also stick in some postcards and swag type stuff for Restoring Harmony and my new book The Right & the Real (April 2012)!
Here’s how to enter and all that boring rule stuff. Please add up all your points and just tell me how many entries you get! Math isn’t my strong point.
Leave a comment here on this post, including how to contact you, and get 1 entry.
Tweet about it, or post on Facebook & link to this blog for 2 extra entries (each place).
Embed the video or book trailer for 10 extra entries on your blog or Facebook. Leave me a link, ’cause I’d like to see it!
The contest runs until 5th August, midnight Pacific time, and is open to U.S. and Canadian residents.
Here’s the trailer, starring Sarah! Ain’t she swell?
Argh! I got your book this afternoon and got about half way through before it was stolen from me. When I was busy doing something else, my 13 yr. old daughter stumbled on it and she has taken it over. At least she’s a fast reader so I will have it back soon. 🙂
Sarah is amazing! Wow, I am blown away with her talent. I love the story of how you both met! 🙂
Great music and the story sounds fantastic! Good luck to both of you.
What a talented young girl. Playing at that level, and composing at her age – phenomenal. Great story, and a beautiful book trailer, too. 🙂
What a fantastic story and a great case of serendipity. Now I can’t wait to read the book.
I just put the trailer on my new blog and have retweeted, so I think that adds up to 13 entries. Here is the link for the blog post. It will start getting visited a lot more once school begins.

So, so impressed by her! And can’t believe you met AFTER RH was written!
I’m hideous at math too, but I’m about to Tweet about it, so that’s, what… three?
Lemme get my 6-y-o… she loves math…
What a great story! My husband (A Newfie) heard the music and came from another room to listen. Sarah’s quite a talent!
I tweeted, so that’s three entries for me.

I’m always impressed by someone with a clear passion for their art. Way to go Sarah!
Sarah’s music sounds awesome! I’d definitely love her CD. 🙂
3 entries for me, please (commented here & tweeted). Thanks!

Her music is quite lovely, something nice for a warm summer evening!
Wow! What an amazing talent Sarah has! As someone who took exactly one year of violin in 4th grade, I know how difficult it would be to master a fiddle so brilliantly. And the story about your meeting is great. Made me smile!
Best of luck on a great sounding book! I shared the video on my Facebook page as well. Hope you get some more explorers to find your page and add your book to their wish list. 🙂
I love the story of how you guys met. I’d love her CD!
