As you know, I went to Seattle to speak at the Nevil Shute International Conference. I’ve put my keynote speech up on youtube (in three parts). I don’t know if anyone is actually interested, but I thought it was really fun, so why not share it. For some reason, the sound is not matched up to the audio so it looks like I’m speaking Chinese and have been dubbed. Here are the links to Part One and Part Two. For some reason, Part Three isn’t showing up yet, but my pal Janet has it on her site here. Clearly me and youtube do not get along that well (it probably has something to do with the fact I won’t give them my mobile phone number to verify I’m a real person…I am a real person without a phone, but I wouldn’t give it to them anyway).
Speaking of Janet, this is the poem I wrote for Janet Reid‘s contest she held the other day where you were supposed to use titles from your bookshelf. You can click on it to make it big enough to read.
I’m going to watch every minute of your speech, Joelle! Thanks for uploading it!
Your poem is impressive! Not only did you use titles from your bookshelf, they’re all Nevil Shute, except for yours, at the end! Wonderful!!!
