This was a fun book. It was a real page turner because you couldn’t really guess what was going to happen next, but not because it was an adventure story or mystery. I think there may be a book before it, but this appears to be the only one printed in the US (it’s British). I’m going to do a little research though because it had the feeling of a sequel. For example, there are three sisters in it as the main characters, but you never know their age. And there are references to previous escapades, but no real explanations, as if the reader should already know what happened. Otherwise, it stands on its own fine. The voices are strong and the twist/hook whatever you want to call it was unique.

I am reading a book now where the mother has died and in this book their mother has died too. I have to say that growing up I never knew a single person whose mother had died, yet it happens ALL THE TIME IN YA. I bet I could name twenty YAs where the mother has died. Not as many fathers seem to die. I did know someone whose father had died when he was a teenager, but I was 19 when I met him. I’m not saying it doesn’t happen, but if you based your statistics on YA, you’d think that parents dropping off early was a common phenomenon.

Okay, yes, there is one before this called BINDI BABES. It was printed in the US, but for some reason, there’s no mention of it in BOLLYWOOD BABES anywhere. You’d think they’d mention it was a sequel! Now to try and get the first one (and the third, BHANGRA BABES).
